Lillypads

Lillypads was inspired by a trip to the Cairns Botanical Gardens. While there I saw one lone lilly standing proud and tall in a huge lilly pond. The image stuck in my mind. This is my favourite piece so far. I discovered that if you mix organic kitty litter with glue and a little bit of plaster you can create an amazing relief effect. My work is never 'perfect'. I rarely plan what I am going to paint; just have an idea or see it clearly in my mind and start to play to see what arrives on the canvas. Some days every time I close my eyes I see another amazing image. Do they always come out how I see them in my mind's eye? No. But I have such fun!

About Shanna Provost

Shanna Provost is an Australian intuitive artist who works with Nature's colours, textures and intricate designs to create art that helps people to reconnect to and be soothed by the myriad images that abound in Nature.

Shanna uses diverse materials in her mixed media paintings - everything from
organic kitty litter to sand from her favourite beach to Ferrero Rocher chocolate wrappers-to build the textures and tones of her bold relief artwork.

Shanna's first exhibition The Heart Series was an outstanding success in Tilba on Australia's far south coast of New South Wales in 2007.

Shanna has travelled extensively around the globe capturing the intricacies and beauty of the Natural world as an added feature of her homage to Gaia The Earth Goddess. Her Earth... Mother... Goddess artwork was the basis of her second exhibition TempleTwentyTen in association with fellow artists Santo Miguel and Miss Betty at The Q art space in Queanbeyan, NSW in 2010.

Shanna welcomes commissions.

Intuitive Art as a healing tool

Welcome to artbyshanna! I believe we can heal ourselves, others and the planet through art. It is the innate beauty of nature and the heart that in a second can bring us back to remembering who we truly are and the part we play on the planet.

Never more than right now has the need to feel and see the beauty that surrounds us in Nature been more important.

It is my heartfelt wish that by looking at the art that I create, a tiny spark within your heart will ignite and you will remember the power of kindness and loving thoughts.

I hope you enjoy my work!
